Behind the Scenes: InterNational Friendship Week
Many of the team members at InterNations are expats themselves and can relate to both the positive and the challenging sides of life abroad. In particular, we know how tough it can be to find new friends in a foreign country. Even though it can be difficult at times, we can at least count on our colleagues for support. And it is hardly surprising that some of the strong bonds at work develop into lasting raybet电竞投注 s.
To celebrate the International Day of Friendship on 30 July — a day honoring peaceful, friendly interactions and non-violence among all people and nations — several colleagues share how they have bonded and become friends at work. More than 120 team members with more than 40 nationalities are currently working at InterNations, and they can confirm what Human Resource Team Lead Christa Fellner says: “Diversity is at the heart of our team here, and we think it’s really important to celebrate that.”
Behind the Scenes: Zero Waste Month at InterNations
In 1974, 5 June became World Environment Day, established by the UN to encourage worldwide awareness and action to protect our environment. That’s why today is the perfect occasion to present an update on the Sustainability Initiative at InterNations. In May, we organized our first theme month to get the team involved. “Be our hero — be waste zero!” was our motto. Here, we’re going to give you an overview of our activities for Zero Waste Month, as well as plenty of advice on how to reduce waste, both at home and at the office.

Apart from overcoming the technological and organizational challenges we discussed in last week’s post, our team members also need to cope with the practical and psychological aspects of working remotely during a crisis. Of course, it’s pretty much a privilege to be sitting at home in front of a computer screen, instead of restocking shelves in the supermarket or working at a hospital. However, it can still be difficult for some people to organize their working day.
